At the hospital the other day, one of the patients said that we are all so busy running around that we really don’t take the time with or care for our patients. We pop into the room and then run right back out going on to our next duty. He said that he feels like a piece of wallpaper just sitting there watching what is going on and not really mattering at all to us. Sadly, that is all to true. This gentleman was telling the truth. We are overworked because they don’t want to have to pay out what is needed due to the economic times. So, we run almost literally—I walk as fast as I can—all day long and still many times aren’t finished with our work at the end of 12 or 13 hours. Very frustrating indeed.

Wouldn’t it be nice to go back to a time when people really mattered to us?Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05549190997375771361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-48613473470349185572009-09-28T14:19:56.851-07:002009-09-28T14:19:56.851-07:00a couple of girls in our home school group have ha...a couple of girls in our home school group have had "craft nights" for the other ladies. they set it up like an open house of sorts. they have snacks and drinks and the ladies can bring whatever craft they like and just work on it together. we have knitters, quilters, stitchers and scrapbookers all chatting together over tea and cookies. they might do this once a month or so. we also have "mom's night out" at each other's houses every month. same idea, without the crafts, just a time to touch base w/other moms and to maybe get support, ideas etc. that might help us ladies, but what about the men? couples game nights? i know my grandparents regularly had cocktail parties in the neighborhood and played euchre or canasta??? how bout that?kellynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-53630161211374369602009-09-28T10:51:41.253-07:002009-09-28T10:51:41.253-07:00Here here Kelly, We need to try and make such a th...Here here Kelly, We need to try and make such a thing in our own communities! any ideas how anyone?50sgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09250940806307766624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-8142052414559466992009-09-28T09:33:48.512-07:002009-09-28T09:33:48.512-07:00kris7-i don't know why exactly folks don't...kris7-i don't know why exactly folks don't get together more..but maybe with all our techno "connections", people feel less inclined to the real deal?i know that some don't even know their next door neighbors!! i would kill for a nice dinner and dancing place where couples actually dressed up and interacted...kellynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-57547928705272781652009-09-28T08:43:31.338-07:002009-09-28T08:43:31.338-07:00Oh those hair-do's!!! :-) Pin curls, pin cur...Oh those hair-do's!!! :-) Pin curls, pin curls, pin curls...

I love the pic, since 'Aunt Amelia' is a whopping 72. ,-)

'Aunt Amelia'Auntie sezzzzzz...https://www.blogger.com/profile/16170232476926222740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-42051306323675184792009-09-26T20:51:31.738-07:002009-09-26T20:51:31.738-07:00Oh how wonderful it would be to just have to walk ...Oh how wonderful it would be to just have to walk to a business and deal with someone face to face. Would be so great to see men & women on the street all dressed up with hats and gloves, people writing letters to each other instead of e-mails, watching 'What's my Line?' on weekly basis and cinema's screening Golden Era films.. just to list a few. So, what a swell idea to live as closely to the 1950s as possible! I wish you good luck and much fun on this project (:Loeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10641310068356940031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-11551773729223060922009-09-25T19:12:51.252-07:002009-09-25T19:12:51.252-07:00Glad you got to post a short note. Not that you're computer illiterate , obviously, but taking care of household business via the internet is a whole other world.

I was so happy when I had to call our village office about a garbage issue this week. This lovely woman, Mary Beth, listened, waited patiently while my son interrupted, and took care of the problem. I was just happy to reach a live person. I never expected the person who answered would be so happy to help. She even chatted a little about other things. Makes me feel like I live in a small town.

SAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-9057307960550034892009-09-25T17:55:07.448-07:002009-09-25T17:55:07.448-07:00Here, Here about the phone calls. I loathe calling someplace and "Press one for english"?!?!?!?! This is AMERICA. I am so sorry is I sound bigoted, but THIS is not a SPANISH speaking nation. LEARN the language. And then they give you ten menu's with thirty options each. And NONE of the options are for what you need. *sigh*Lorie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14406168168009117387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960946442922071473.post-80349804022648112312009-09-25T16:34:31.059-07:002009-09-25T16:34:31.059-07:00Thank you for all be patient with my move schedule...Thank you for all be patient with my move schedule, here I am and I thought I would have had time to post again today, but the chores piled up today.
